Nine months old (almost!)

On Tuesday our youngest turns 9 months old. I have gotten to enjoy this infant stage more than usual since, like most of our children, Sebastian is rather laid back and not in a hurry to go anywhere. With four older brothers to watch, he is very content to lie on the floor and play and look around. This is to me the easiest of the infant stages. He sleeps all night, stays where I put him, loves to laugh, smile, and cuddle, and doesn’t talk back! He thinks his big brothers are hilarious and mystifying. If given the opportunity, he would rub Adam’s beard until it fell out. And he thinks his momma is wonderful. He has just begun sitting and trying to roll over and with this new posture he has ceased to look like a little baby and has started looking big. His first tooth has broken through. He is starting to recognize some games to play and looks for things when they fall out of sight. I packed away the 6-9 month clothes this week and brought out the 12 month size which holds a lot of memories of our other boys crawling, walking, and looking adorable in them.  Soon I will need to put up the baby gate and start watching for small objects left on the floor. Happy nine months, little man! You are a blessing and a joy and I’m glad to be your momma.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
