Race Day

Last Saturday we drove to Milaca, MN where Adam completed his first race of the year, a 10 K called Running in the Ruff. It was a very muddy trail race from which he returned with wet feet and mud up to the back of his knees, much to the boys’ amusement. The boys and I got to go and cheer for him as he finished. We clapped for everyone as they crossed the foot bridge and headed for the finish line. Gabriel joined in the cheering by exclaiming after everyone as the crossed, “You muddy! You need take shower!”

I am not only proud of Adam for his endurance, but extremely grateful for the inspiration it has been for our children who have taken to running their own races outside around the house (a much needed outlet) and now want to sign up for a “real race.”
