Nature Walk sightings

Finally I am getting around to posting our neat sightings on our nature walk the other day. As well as Stephen’s heroics, we saw some fantastic wildlife–not bad for a troop of five noisy boys.

The turtle was very interesting. I don’t know anything about turtles and wasn’t sure how fast this one could move or if it liked to bite. It watched us very closely and as we carefully walked around it turned to watch us as we passed. We also spotted a great blue heron flying over the lake and some kind of furry creature we couldn’t identify swimming in the water. Oh, and the giant mosquitoes of course! The boys made the 1 1/2 mile hike to the church without stopping to rest. We had a snack by the lake before heading back again.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
