Adam recently bought me an ipad, which I must say I am very much enjoying. I called it my early birthday present. With Jack’s and Gabriel’s birthdays just around the corner, they have really taken to this idea of “early birthday presents.” Jack has been busy all hours of the day making Gabriel’s birthday presents. Of course we’ve had to work on other aspects of kindness a bit, as he has been found yelling at Gabriel to go away in order to not spoil the surprise. Jack volunteered last night to go to bed before Isaac and Stephen so they could work on his presents.
The presentation of presents began today. Gabriel so far has received a happy face, a window (the rest of the paper the happy face circle was cut out of), a bumble bee costume complete with stripes made out of the tinker toy bucket, several pictures, blocks in a box, blocks taped together in the shape of a robot, and perhaps some other things I can’t keep track of. Jack has received some Star Wars characters drawn, colored, and fastened to cardboard “so they aren’t so soft.” There is still a week to go and the continuous gift making is going strong. I just heard the sound of all the tinker toys being poured out onto the floor. I may need a new house addition to hold all these treasures. If anyone wants ideas for my birthday I could use a cleaning service to repair the damages of all this creative effort and a new supply of tape!
