Bumps and Bruises

It has been a hard few days in this house of five boys. On Thursday, Gabriel slipped at the splash pad and somehow scraped the skin off the inside and outside of his upper lip. It bled for half an hour and again the next day as he was trying to eat an apple.  Saturday night Jack fell off the couch hitting his head on the corner of the wall and getting a nice laceration. Probably it could have been stitched, but it didn’t seem worth the trauma of going to the ER. Thankfully he has a nice thick head of hair to cover where the scar will be and maybe he won’t hate me if he goes bald in his old age. Gabriel and Sebastian both ended up with a stomach bug and stayed home from church Sunday. During that time, Sebastian practiced his climbing skills and fell off the coffee table. He now has a bruised and cut eye lid. We woke up Sunday morning to another crash. Jack was getting something out of the cabinet and fell off the counter. Today Stephen’s glasses got broken–again.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.

  1. Oh wow! You guys have had an eventful few days!! Hope everyone heals quickly. You can tell Jack that Jon has a scar on his head from falling over in his high chair when he was a year old.
