Cast Fitting

Last Friday we went to the cities to get the casts made for them to make Stephen’s braces. It is hard to decide what the highlight of the visit was for them. It might have been walking down the line on the floor in the hallway, getting the explanation of how the casts work, or explaining all of the names and powers of the superheroes in the drawing book they brought along to the therapist. Stephen got to choose some pictures to go on his braces. He chose Batman for one of them and a teddy bear for the other.  I thought this very telling of his transition between little boy and bigger boy.

The appointment went very smoothly and we were in and out in 30 minutes. In fact, the boys were disappointed that they didn’t have more time to play in the waiting room so when we finished we went back to the waiting room where I sat and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate while they played.
