Trunnel’s Farm

After church today Mom and Dad took us to Trunnel’s farm for one of their fall festivals. There were small mazes, a corn maze, and a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, and a long slide, but the highlight of the trip for the boys was the small structure that was filled 1 1/2 feet deep with corn to play in. Their first jump in buried them to their ankles in corn and the proceeded to dig and burrow and bury themselves. A slide came out of the house to the ground outside. One of the boys suggested it would be more fun if you slid into the corn. This was confirmed by Gabriel who landed with a bump on the hard ground and was brought to tears.

After some negotiating by Grandpa we got apple cider slushes in spite of not completing the corn maze (which was not designed for 5 and 6 year olds or a momma pushing a twin stroller) and enjoyed them as we rode to the pumpkin patch. The slush was definitely Sebastian’s favorite part.

Mom and I agreed this trip was more tiring than the entire day at Holiday World, but perhaps we were just worn out to start with. Anyway, it was worth it, if only for this:

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
