Trick or Treat!

It is always interesting when it comes to picking out costumes. I refuse to buy new costumes so the boys have to wait and choose who they will be depending on what costumes I find at secondhand stores. In the end though they end up pretty happy (so far).

This year I came up short on animal costumes. Honestly the boys are past the point that they want to dress up as cute furry animals, so it was probably for the best. Jack humored me and dressed as a lion and Sebastian was a very cute bear. Gabriel was going to be a lion also. He was dressed and ready to walk out the door to go see Adam and his coworkers at HMML and as we were stepping out the door looked at me and said, “I want to be incredible.” I couldn’t refuse so we made a quick change and he made a truly adorable “Mr Incredible.”  Isaac had planned for weeks to go as Batman, but decided yesterday the pants were too long so he dressed as Mr. Fantastic instead. Stephen went as Spiderman–he wanted his face completely covered so no one would know who he was.

The trip to HMML was a successful one. A group of college students went by as we came in and admired them enough to make any mother’s heart happy. The superheroes displayed their powers and Jack showed his claws and claimed he could slice the table in two. We had dinner at home and then headed out to visit the neighbors.  At one point we passed a monster of some sort. Isaac skipped merrily by and said hello. After we passed he asked me, “Did you know I was brave enough to say hi to scary monsters?” (Though he admitted this morning he was a little scared last night.)  The candy was a great hit of course and they enjoyed looking through their plunder when we got back, but I think the highlight of the night was visiting the neighbors we saw last week (See Midnight Ride on the Metro). After each house with said neighbors one of the boys would exclaim, “We saw them on the bus!”
