A Bragging Post

I have to say, this boy of mine is simply adorable. Sebastian is sixteen months old now and is becoming quite his own person.  His smile lights up the room. He is very much his momma’s boy still, though cuddling is now on his own terms and he wants to do his share of wrestling too. Watching him join in with Adam and the big boys is pretty cute. The boys will be laughing over something and he’ll chime in with his own sweet laugh. He sleeps downstairs. We make a game of hopping down the stairs which he enjoys, but he begins his protests at the bottom when he remembers he must be going to bed. He has submitted to signing “more” and nods vigorously with his whole body to affirms he wants something. He has become very much aware of what his brothers do and have and tries his best to keep up with them. This includes climbing on top of the forts and structures his brothers create which doesn’t go over very well. He has learned the less endearing habit of screaming to get my attention or when someone tries to take things from him. He puts things in his month a little less and is more willing to give up forbidden objects, especially if you let him put them away rather than hand them over. Crawling is now a thing of the past and he walks or climbs pretty much wherever he wants to go. It occurred to me yesterday as I was changing him that it won’t be long at all before I don’t have anyone in diapers. What a change that will be! It makes me happy and sad all at the same time. I sure do love this boy!

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
