Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig

The boys arrived home with Mom and Dad on Wednesday evening. Adam had gone to work Wednesday morning so I had the quiet house to myself. It was enjoyable to be sure, though I missed the sound of young voices and was glad when they arrived.  I think they all grew several inches while they were away.  They seemed more grown up than just a week ago.  They had a busy and enjoyable time at Mom and Dad’s.  We had a happy reunion over one of the boys’ favorite meals, meatballs and rice.

The next morning they noticed there was some snow on the ground that had fallen in their absence. Most of it had already melted, but they were eager not to miss out totally so before the rest of the grown-ups were out of bed, they donned coats and boots and went out to play.  The icy remnants were piled together in an “ice castle”.  It took a great deal of urging for them to wait for a fresh snow before eating it.

Within a few hours, the house once again looked very much lived in, but it is nice to all be together again in one place, even if it is a messy one.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
