Christmas Parade

In Birmingham we started a Christmas tradition of attending the Christmas parade. There we always went with Gran and Pap and took the Christmas stockings to collect candy. Here the parade is much shorter and we don’t have the company of Gran and Pap, which is sorely missed, but the boys enjoy it still–especially the candy. They actually got in two parades this Christmas, since they got to go to the parade with Nonie and Grandpa while Adam and I were in San Francisco.

This year the St. Cloud Parade was much different from last year. Last year was extremely cold and we watched the parade from a large mound of snow piled up from the snow plow. This year was much warmer. We did happen to stand by a small clump of snow that must have escaped the sun. Isaac, Stephen, and Jack spent their time waiting for the parade to start stomping in the snow.

Gabriel, who was woken from a nap to leave, chose to finish resting up while waiting.

We came home with two buckets full of candy and the boys enjoyed cereal and candy for supper during our weekly movie night. Sebastian sat the parade out this time and stayed home with Adam, but he did get to share in the candy.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
