Holiday Confusion

Last Sunday Adam explained to the boys that it was our anniversary and that an anniversary was like a birthday  but it was celebrating when you got married instead.  Gabriel asked, “Oh, are you going to get married?” A friend from church watched the boys while we went out to lunch.
Me: Boys, you’re going to go to Mrs. Liz’s while Momma and Abba go out.
Gabriel: Are you going to go eat?
Me: Yes.
Gabriel: Are you going to do marry?

Apparently the idea hasn’t quite yet sunk in yet.

Our anniversary isn’t the only day of celebration with a bit of confusion. Last night Gabriel and Jack went out with Adam to return a movie. Their conversation went something like this.

Jack: “Christmas is when Jesus died on the cross.”
Gabriel: “No, Christmas is when he rose from the dead.”
Adam: “No, that isn’t right.”
Jack: “That’s Easter! Christmas is when Jesus gets born.”
Gabriel: “Jesus sure gets born a lot!”
