Easter Eggs

IMG_4589I think it always rains on Easter, except in Minnesota because it is too cold. I missed being home for the services that take place during Holy Week, but the boys had asked to go to Alabama for Easter and I couldn’t say no. Good Friday we arrived at Mike and Kathy’s where Adam was already waiting for us. We knew rain was coming so Miranda and Jon and Sam and Erin came over Saturday to do the traditional Easter egg hunt a day early. Gone are the days of holding little children’s hands and pointing the way. Sebastian needed initial instruction and then was off on his own gathering as many eggs as his brothers, once he understood it was better to find the eggs first and then eat the candy. Once the candy was consumed and a little energy run off on the playground, Kathy bravely gathered 8 children around the table for dying eggs. We only had one spill, and that was by one of grown-ups.IMG_4600IMG_4609 IMG_4613 IMG_4618IMG_4619

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
