The Beach

Easter night we headed to Gulf Shores, AL for a couple of days at the beach. We hadn’t been since Sebastian was little. The forecast was a bit iffy, but the weather was perfect: 75 degrees and sunny both days. In the morning we relaxed at the beach house. Isaac and Stephen opened their birthday presents early and played a little. We headed out for lunch and then spent the afternoon at the beach. The four older boys played in the water and Sebastian, who wanted nothing to do with water, played happily in the sand. We went for a walk to see if the sand cliffs there on our last visit were there. They weren’t, but we did find some large pieces of drift wood. The days of lounging by seaside with a book are not currently ours, but with two adults to watch it is still relaxing to enjoy the sun and wind and waves. I think it might have been the most relaxing trip ever. Maybe it being my first trip without a nursing baby has something to do with it.

About Wendy McCollum

I am a single mom to five wonderful boys. Life is an adventure, with many twists and turns. We live in hope, always, for our great God can redeem all things. There are so many funny and precious moments that slip by too fast. Perhaps here I can save them for when my own memory fails.
