The First Swim of Summer

A few weeks ago we made a trip to our good friends’ house for summer swimming. The day was beautiful but since the night temperature was still dropping to the 70s the water was a bit chilly for my taste. Lucky for me Gabriel was content to play on the steps with the snorkel and flippers, Sebastian happily wandered around the edge of the pool sucking up water in his squirt gun gifted by our Minnesota neighbor and spraying it at any willing or unwilling target, and the older three can swim independently. So I spent the afternoon sitting by the poolside as lifeguard visiting with my friend Debbie while the children took their first swim of the season.
